Tetras are small bright-colored freshwater fishes that belong to the family of characin. They are known as one of the most popular aquarium fishes because of their colorful appearances.

Over 150 species of tetras have been identified in the world. They are origin in the tropical region of South America and also in the damp climate of east Afrika where exactly lives in the wide rivers.

Most tetras are peaceful, however, some others are aggressive or semi-aggressive. Males are smaller than females. When breeding period, females commonly lay their eggs on the floating plants. The diets of tetras are naturally brine shrimp, small blood worm, and algae.

If you want to keep tetra fish in an aquarium, you have to prepare the tank size at least 10 gallons. Most tetras require the tropical set up the condition to live. There are different interesting types of tetras which in varying color and characteristics.
